An incredibly sound and strong hull built to withstand heavy conditions.
"The interior of the hull is gel coated to prevent water absorption. The deck and cabin top is one piece glassfibre molding with foam and plywood stiffening. It is bolted and bonded to the hull and protected by a substantial rubber D-fender".

Storebro boats, built in Sweden, are relatively unknown in the United States. Their build, strength, and attention to interior detail is striking and impressive as one becomes familiar with the manufacturing and intentions of the boatbuilder.
Approaching the boat, it is apparent the current owner has attended to the details which catch your eye. The seams on the teak decks have been resealed, each of the bungs and screws replaced and resealed. The decks are beautiful solid teak. It has a generous walkaround protected by guardrails and a wide, open foredeck. The propane locker is starboard on the foredeck, just forward of the galley. Unique and clever fender storage is found via deck hatches midship, port and starboard.
The raised cockpit is well-situated to deploy the upgraded Roskelley-Olssen davit, or to sit with chairs or pads along each side and enjoy a quiet anchorage.
The fly bridge is fully equipped with navigation and safety equipment. It is easy to imagine a small "co-captain's" chair next to the captain’s seat, enjoying a beautiful day, shaded by the bimini.
Entering the salon via an easy-sliding door, the amount of light and visibility throughout the boat is remarkable. I am also impressed by the headroom allowance throughout the boat: 6’3” in the salon and galley; forward guest cabin, 6’2”, guest head 6’0; Aft cabin in the companionway 6’2”, at the side of the berth 5’0”, head is 6’0”. – I would expect that tall people will feel very comfortable in these accommodations.
Aft and below the cockpit is a private ensuite cabin which is quite spacious. The double berth lies starboard. A small single bunk lies athwartship above the double. Two small settees, and plentiful storage creates a comfortable cabin. The private head is port.
The salon includes the helm station to port and L-shaped settee starboard with a high-low table. A TV is stored above the settee. There is plentiful storage under the settee and built-in units for provisions. Built-in units, to port, include a custom bar-stock liquor locker with beautiful Storebro glassware (which convey with the purchase). The main access to the engine compartment is via the salon sole.
Forward and down a few steps, the galley is to port. Outfitted with an Optimus two burner stove and oven, Novakool refrigerator with freezer compartment, side-by-side stainless sink, cutting boards and generous counter and storage space. Signature original Storebro china and glassware will also convey with the boat. Across from the galley is the guest/day head with sink, manual toilet and separate shower. The guest head is also accessed via the forward guest cabin allowing it to be a private ensuite cabin. The forward cabin has a large v-berth (king size in length and width but a non-traditonal shape), large hanging lockers. The Norcold fridge/freezer is below the bunk.
The head linings, wall coverings, and mahogany throughout appear to be in excellent condition with no evidence of leaks. The carpet and galley floors are also in very good condition.

Broker's Comments

VIRTUAL TOUR - VIDEO - 80 TO 100 PHOTOS - FULL SPECS CAN BE VIEWED OF THIS 1984 ROYAL CRUISER 36 BALTIC.

Storebro, based in Sweden, has a long history of manufacturing many different products. Boat building became part of their repertoire around 1943 when Estonian refugees crossed the Baltic and became part of the workforce. It is reported that “in their spare time” the refugees began building wooden boats capable of withstanding the severe conditions of the Baltic Sea.

I am impressed by many aspects of this 1984 Royal Cruiser Baltic 36: the hull construction and lay-up of the interior is a beautiful example of Storebro’s tradition of solid craftsmanship; built to perform with refined luxury accommodations for a boat of its size and age.

The hull is solid hand-laid with alternate layers of chopped strand and woven mat, foam and additional mat. Additional reinforcements around the engine stringers with foam and mat create an incredibly strong hull. The deep bow provides a dry deck in normal conditions, the keel which runs the majority of the boat provides directional stability and some protection for the running gear. The hull softens and rounds toward the stern to provide a softer ride while cruising at higher speeds.
Updates she has received since new include: bow thruster, dripless shaft seals, Novakool refrigerator, updated upholstery and newer electronics.
This boat is capable of taking you on adventures throughout the Pacific Northwest and BC’s Inside Passage waters.
My personal opinion is she has been well maintained mechanically; the interior mahogany is beautiful. A very comfortable two cabin, two head boat which will easily accommodate a cruising couple and friends or small family.
