Broker's Comments
Grand Banks' of this era are true classics and this is a rare opportunity to own a 1973 Grand Banks 36 Classic. The previous owner owned her for 50 years; the current seller is only the second owner! She has been beautifully maintained with fresh brightwork, protecting her decks and interior. She has been moored in the same covered slip since new.
A binder of receipts dated December 2004 to October 2022 details approximately $1.2 million in upgrades, maintenance and work completed on major systems. Wiring throughout the boat and electronics have been upgraded, planks and decking monitored and replaced as needed throughout its life, engine and fuel tank repairs are all documented. Cosmetically, receipts are included for exterior painting, repainting, brightwork detail, remodel of the aft cabin and interior restorations. The current owner also has records of work completed since purchasing in 2023.
There are no signs of water damage from leaks, the boat has no objectionable odors. She is generally in very nice condition for her age.
She is a true classic yet equipped with modern comforts and ready to take you on adventures. A longer keel and deep bow provide stability. She has two dinghies: an Achilles RIB with an electric 15hp 4-stoke Yamaha mounted with a SeaWise Electric davit on the swim step and a custom Gig Harbor Boatworks sailing dinghy on the deck easily deployed with a Roskelley – Olsson arm davit. Kayak cradles on either side of the house, a barbeque on the flybridge and plenty of seating to enjoy cruising or a sunset.
Her interior wood is beautifully maintained. This is a classic layout with style and with upgrades to enhance the main cabin. She is stylish with graceful lines; functional and easy to manage.
Whether cruising in the nearby waters or venturing North up the Inside Passage, you are bound to draw attention in this beauty!
