Broker's Comments
Frequently sailed, this 1959 Cardinal Sloop cruiser defies her age, she needs some attention, time and a little money to bring her up to par but fundamentally appears to be in good condition.
Due to the work required the price has been significantly reduced from £14,995 down to £9,995.
With her deep keel and deep cockpit the previous owner stated she is not only a great sailing boat but also offers a sense of safety and security for the crew sitting in the cockpit.
The boat is made of teak and whilst onboard I could not help but feel she is solid and has been well maintained. The companionway feels extra wide and extra deep making her an easy boat to head down below.
Up on deck she feels solid under foot, the paintwork appears to be in good condition. There is also plenty of space on the side decks and foredeck which again would offer a sense of feeling secure onboard.
Of particular note:
- The engine was installed in 2007 and has only done c100 hours, it was serviced in December 2021
- The bilges were cleaned and new bilge pumps fitted in December 2021
- A new seatoilet was fitted in December 2021
- New Bronze seacocks were fitted in December 2021
Internally she feels clean, spacious and well looked after.
The saloon table is of a nice size and can be folded away for extra room in the saloon. On the Starboard side there is a good size navigation table and on the port side the galley is fitted with a relatively new 2 burner gas hob, grill and oven.
