Broker's Comments
Boatshed are delighted to bring a new range of stylish houseboats to the UK market for the first time. Designed for the waterborne revolution on our waterways, these all-aluminium houseboats are superbly built, endlessly customisable and make a fantastic way to move your life onto the water and soak up the benefits of this popular, new way of living.
The FloatOne shown here is a 12m boat fitted with two cabins, an open plan galley and living area and the big USP, a huge roof terrace that runs for almost the entire length of the boat. The sofa in the living area also converts into a third bed. Lots of double glazed windows, modern fittings and sliding doors out onto the bow area give these boats the edge over boats which have been converted into liveaboards because they have been designed from scratch to maximise space whilst keeping costs down in marinas that, for the vast majority, charge on length. The bathroom has an electric flushing heads and a good sized shower compartment. There is a large holding tank (450l) to help minimise the amount of pump outs an owner will need to do.
The level of finish throughout is very high with tactile wall coverings and modern, LED lighting built in. Being constructed on an aluminium pontoon makes the boat incredibly stable and the stainless steel railings make the external areas of the boat feel safe and secure. It's the small details that sets boats apart from one another and you can tell real thought and care has gone into the design to make these work as practical homes for people.
There are various propulsion options and this model has been fitted with a 40HP Yamaha outboard but these boats can also be supplied without an engine if navigation is never going to be required. The standard specification also comes with a helm station fitted on the bow.
The builders are ready to work with buyers to design their dream floating home with numerous sizes, layout options, level of finish and equipment specs available. Boatshed are also on hand to assist if you are looking for a mooring. Our network of UK brokers have access to marinas across the country and can advise on finding a permanent spot for your new home.
