WATCH: Man washes ashore after trying to ‘walk’ to New York in bubble vessel

Beachgoers in Florida were shocked when a human hamster wheel on water washed up on the beaches of Flagler County on the weekend.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) responded to a call about a vessel washing ashore in the Hammock area, Florida. The FCSO confirmed that the occupant of the vessel was safe and with no injuries.

The man told the FCSO he left the St Augustine area on Saturday and was walking on water for charity, heading for New York, but ran into some complications. The contraption was a barrel-like device, which appears to have buoys on each end.

In an interview with FOX 35 News, the occupant identified as Reza Baluchi calls his floating contraption his bubble.

“My goal is to not only raise money for homeless people, raise money for the Coast Guard, raise money for the police department, raise money for the fire department. They are in public service, they do it for safety and they help other people.”
